Beatrice ChaytorBeatrice Chaytor works with the International Lawyers and Economists Against Poverty (ILEAP) in providing capacity building support to a number of African regions in their negotiations with the European Union on services under the EPAs, and in defining solutions and strategies for African countries’ needs on Aid for Trade. From 2004 to 2008, Beatrice Chaytor was a Senior Trade Policy Advisor in the Ministry of Trade and Industry in Sierra Leone, on assignment by the Commonwealth Secretariat.As Director of Policy, Planning and Research in the Ministry, she provided policy advice, analysis, and direction on all aspects of trade and investment policy affecting Sierra Leone. Prior to her assignment in Sierra Leone, Beatrice Chaytor worked for nine years as Senior Lawyer, and then Programme Director, at the Foundation for International Environmental Law and Development (FIELD) in London, building capacity among developing country negotiators at the World Trade Organisation. Currently, Ms Chaytor is based in Sierra Leone and provides independent research and analysis on a range of economic policy issues affecting Africa, including trade, investment and environment. She also has private sector interests in horticulture, packaging, design and well-being. |

Prof. Paschal MihyoProf. Pachal Buberwa Mihyo is Director of Programmes and Research of the Association of African Universities. Prior to joining the AAU he was senior lecturer in the Institute of Social Studies (ISS) in The Hague. He was involved in the development of courses in African Universities as part of the collaborative activities between the Institute and other universities in Africa. He was an Associate Professor of Law at the University of Dar Es Salaam, and Executive Director of the African Technology Policy Studies Network. He has eight books and several published articles to his credit. Including a review of the feasibility of increased ICT applications in rural communities. He has been Consultant to various international bodies including DANIDA, IDRC, Sida, IDA, UNDP, UNCTAD, ILO, UN Institute of Economic Development and Training, and the Commonwealth. |

Prof. Dr. Klaus AmmannProf. Klaus Ammann is the Director of the Botanic Garden of the University of Berne. He also teaches Plant Systematics and Evolution, Biogeography and Air Pollution Biomonitoring at the Federal Institute of Technology in Zurich. He gives presentations in national and international conferences on biodiversity and biotechnology. He is a member of Teaching faculty Global Initiative on Education in Biotechnology (a UNIDO initiative) and he is member of the Swiss Biosafety Committee and Editor in Chief (Ecology) of Environmental Biosafety Research. |

Dr. Frank VorhiesFrank Vorhies was until December 2004 CEO of Earthwatch Europe. He was the first fulltime economist and later Head of the Business Unit at The World Conservation Union in Switzerland. Frank played a strategic role in the relationship between business and biodiversity where he produced the Business & Biodiversity Handbook for Corporate Action. He helped to develop a unique initiative, known as Kijani, to identify African investment opportunities in agriculture and tourism which also contribute to conservation objectives. Frank was a senior lecturer in business economics at the University of the Witwatersrand in South Africa and worked as a technical economics advisor to the conservation industry. He has a PhD in economics from the University of Colorado. |

Mr. Ndung'u GathinjiMr. Ndungu Gathinji is the Chairman of Francis Drummond & Co. Ltd. Stockbrokers, which is the oldest member of the Nairobi Stock Exchange having been incorporated in 1949. Mr. Gathinji is also the current Chairman of the Nairobi Stock Exchange. He helped found the African Stock Exchanges Association in 1993 and has served as its Honourable Secretary ever since. He practiced as a Chartered Accountant for 26 years before retiring as Chairman of Ernst & Young East Africa in 1997. Mr. Gathinji has held other positions in the International Accounting Profession, having represented Kenya in the International Federation of Accountants Board since 1987. He is a member of the Standards Advisory Council of the International Accounting Standards Committee foundation and an observer from Africa at the UNCTAD/ISAR meetings in Geneva. He is a Past Chairman of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya (1987-1989) and chaired the IFAC membership committee between 1995 and 1997 and the Development Nation’s Task Force in 2002/2003. |

Dr. Andreas SturmAndreas Sturm is partner of Ellipson Ltd. since 1992, he specialized in eco-controlling, environmental management system design and implementation and value based management. He lectures on Eco-Management at the Basel University in Switzerland and at the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT) School of Management (SOM) in Thailand. Mr. Sturm was project manager of a research project "Eco-Controlling for companies". He has published widely on among others Shareholder Value, Eco-Efficiency, Environmental Management System, and Green Business Opportunities. Andreas Sturm holds a Master Degree in Business Administration from the University of St. Gallen, Switzerland and a Doctorate from the "Management Institute" at Basle University, were he worked on "Environmental decisions in companies including Environmental management accounting versus life-cycle-analysis. |
