Entrepreneurial Finance Lab

10 March 2010

The mission of the Entrepreneurial Finance Lab (EFL) is to help unlock the entrepreneurial potential of the developing world’s missing middle.

Despite evidence of high returns, existing models of finance like microcredit, bank lending and venture capital aren’t reaching small and medium-sized enterprises. Visit EFL’s Finance and the Missing Middle page to find out more.

To profitably invest in the missing middle, financial institutions need low-cost, low-information methods to identify high-potential entrepreneurs. Visit our EFL Solutions page to learn more.

The flagship project of the EFL is to assemble such screening technology and test it in the field, and we are actively seeking pilot partners with access to suitable samples of entrepreneurs. For details on the types of partners we are looking for and the benefits of working with the EFL, visit our EFL Potential Partners page.

We are also constantly seeking new modules to pilot test. Interested parties are welcome to contact us at EFL@hks.harvard.edu.
